AP, Bihar mulling to avoid maiden NEET UG

According to a latest report, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy assured the students about the possibility of joining NEET UG from 2014. He told to sources that he had a discussion with Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad over this issue and indicated that from 2014 the State students will be in a better position to join NEET UG.
The issues Mr. Reddy highlighted seems to be the difference in the syllabus, the EAMCET is based on the Board of Intermediate Education syllabus but NEET UG is based on CBSE syllabus. Thus Reddy is expecting to free it’s students from NEET UG in the coming year, a response or final confirmation from Health Ministry or the MCI is awaited.
Situation in Bihar
On similar lines, the Bihar Government has decided to move HC to abandon NEET UG & NEET PG in the State. Bihar instead wants to have it’s own entrance test for MBBS / BDS & MD / MS courses.
However no State so far has been officially exempted from maiden NEET UG which is to be held on 05 May 2013 & maiden NEET PG which will be held during 24 Nov to 06 Dec 2012.
