Important dates of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET PG 2013)

Date of Availability of application form of NEET PG i.e.  Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher at designated branches of Axis Bank will be from 4^th October to 10^th November 2012
Date of Online Registration and Scheduling of NEET PG 2013 is from 4^th October to 12^th November 2012
Last date of submission of NEET PG 2013 online application form is up to 23:59 hrs on 12^th November 2012.
Date of Examination of NEET-PG 2013 is scheduled from 23^rd November – 6^th December 2012
NEET PG 2013 Results will be announced on 31^st January 2013

NEET PG 2013 Application form

1. Fee for NEET PG 2013 Application form (NEET-PG Exam fee):

i)                    For SC/ST/PWD candidates – Rs. 2750/-
ii)                   For General/OBC candidates – Rs. 3750/-
NEET PG 2013 Application form (Information Bulletin-cum-Examination Fee Voucher) will be available in listed branches of Axis Bank.
Note- There is a unique serial number on the NEET UG 2013 Application form (Information Bulletin-cum Examination Fee Voucher) below the scratch panel which is required to be entered on the NEET PG website for the online registration and scheduling process. So candidates are advice to keep that unique serial number.

NEET PG 2013 merit list (preparation procedure)

According to National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test  (NEET PG 2013) an All India Merit List as well as State-wise merit list of the eligible candidates will prepared on the basis of scores obtained and the qualifying  candidates shall be admitted to Post Graduate courses in different institute from the former mentioned merit lists only.

Distribution of seats in NEET PG 2013:

1. PG Seats for Government Medical Colleges

a)      50% seats will be filled at All India level as per NEET PG 2013 Merit position. (All India Pool)
b)      50% seats will be filled at State level as per NEET PG 2013 Merit position. (State Pool)

1. PG Seats for Private Medical Colleges

a)      50% seats will be filled at State level as per NEET PG 2013 Merit position. (State Pool)
b)       Remaining 50% seats will be filled as per NEET PG 2013 merit. (Institute Pool)

Medical institutions under NEET PG 2013 – Candidates can check various MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma courses and seats available at various Medical Colleges/Institutions on the official website www.mciindia.org

Medical institutions not under NEET PG 2013

Medical institutions which are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS/PG Diploma seats through NEET PG 2013 are: -
I)                    AIIMS, New Delhi
II)                  PGIMER, Chandigarh
III)                 JIPMER, Pondicherry

NEET PG Results 2012

National Eligibility Entrance Test Post Graduate examination shall be conducted from 23rd November – 6th December, 2012, which is referred to as the testing window (with 24th, 25th, 28th November and 2nd December as non-testing days). 



QUALIFYING CRITERIA
As per the Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations:

In order to be eligible for admission to any postgraduate course in a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a percentile of 50 and above in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses’ held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum percentile shall be 40.

In respect of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum percentile shall be 45. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest scaled scores secured in the All-India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’ for Postgraduate courses.

VALIDITY OF NEET-PG RESULT
The validity of the result of the NEET-PG shall be only for the current admission session i.e. 2013 admission session for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses and cannot be carried forward for the next session of admissions for MD/MS/PG Diploma. 

Declaration of Result 

The results for NEET shall be declared by 31st January 2013. The mark sheet-cum-result certificate for the NEET-PG examination can be downloaded from the website www.nbe.gov.in/neetpg after the declaration of result.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus for NEET PG for 2013 Admissions

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) shall be conducting NEET–PG as a Computer Based Test (CBT) from 23 November 2012 to 6 December 2012 at test centres located in 33 cities across the country. Out of these, 24th, 25th, 28th November and 2nd December 2012 are non-testing days i.e. no exam will be conducted on these days.

Here is the detailed schedule/ pattern of NEET PG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Post Graduate courses):
1.NEET-PG is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses in medical institutions recognized for running these courses under the ambit of Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations. NEET PG will be a computer based test (CBT).

2.NEET-PG will comprise of 240 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only.

3.The examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computers network as per scheme prescribed.

4.Kindly note that the weightage of MCQ’s is indicative and purely provisional. NBE reserves its rights to alter /vary /amend the same.

5.Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking in NEET-PG.

Centre announces NEET dates

New Delhi, September 26, 2012, DHNS:

The Central government on Wednesday announced the dates for holding the first all India level entrance examination for entry into various post-graduate medical disciplines offered by institutions under the Medical Council of India.

The first NEET-PG, for admissions to MD or MS or PG Diploma courses in 2013-14 will be held online by the National Board of Examination from November 23 to December 6, 2012, at centres in 34 cities of the country.

The government had earlier entrusted the responsibility of conducting an all-India common entrance test for post graduate medical education to the NBE hoping to bring transparency and streamline the admission process to post-graduate medical and dental courses.

The NEET-PG for dental courses will be conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today strongly opposed the Centre's move to conduct All India Common Entrance Test for admission to UG and PG courses in medical colleges and reiterated her demand that Tamilnadu be exempted from it.

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a copy of which was released to the media here, she said Tamilnadu should be exempted from this and allowed to continue with its existing system for admission to UG and PG Medical seats. Jayalalithaa expressed surprise and distress over the unilateral decision taken by the Centre without taking into account the protests and in spite of the stay against the Common Entrance Test obtained in the Madras High Court which holds good until it was vacated or until the writ petition was disposed of. Jayalalithaa said the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare had earlier assured that the States would be consulted and their views considered before evolving any policy decision with regard to the conduct of an All India Common Entrance Test. The Tamilnadu government had also given its views, specifically stating that the All India Common Entrance Test would interfere with the rights of the State government in administering the education system and would create problems in implementing the reservation policy followed uniquely in the State. 'Even after repeated requests, by this public notice, it is now clear that the Central Government has not considered our case and has gone ahead with the decision to implement the Common Entrance Test and in the notice has stated that NEET-PG is a mandatory test for gaining entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in all medical colleges under the ambit of post graduate medical education of the Medical Council of India'', she said. Jayalalithaa recalled her earlier letter to the Prime Minister in which she had registered the State's protest on the issue. However, despite the State’s protest the Union government has notified the National Board of Examination (NBE) for conducting the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Courses and has gone ahead issuing a public notice for admission to MD and MS Post Graduate Diploma Courses for the 2013 session. The Tamilnadu government had already taken a policy decision to abolish the entrance examination for professional courses. 'This was done after detailed examination by an Expert Committee which found that such Common Entrance Tests put rural students from poor socio economic backgrounds at a disadvantage due to lack of geographical and financial access to requisite training institutions and materials', she pointed out. Jayalalithaa said the State government has reserved 50 per cent of its PG medical seats for doctors who have completed three years of rural service with special weightage for those working in hilly and tribal areas. 'The government has also successfully obtained and enforced bonds from those completing Post Graduate education in Government Medical Colleges to serve the State for a minimum period, which has helped to meet the need for specialist medical manpower', she said. Jayalalithaa said 'it will be legally difficult to implement these policy initiatives if a Common Entrance Test is introduced as we would have to fall in line with the regulations of the National Test, which may not have such enabling provisions'.
